Just because you’re not feeling well doesn’t mean you can’t go outside. Let’s join our little stay-in-bed hero and his cat as we use our imaginations to step outside and save the day.

Cheng Wah has been a preschool educator for over a decade. She likes to use children's illustration books in her teaching, as she found the process brought her joy, while her students were immersed into the story and beautiful illustration.
Follow her accelerating passion for children's illustration books, she started collecting children's illustration books and decided to spread the simple pleasure from picture books to more readers. In 2019, she founded the Sophy Book Cafe in Bukit Mertajam, a space combining both of her fondness - children illustration books and coffee. The space, which works as a library, and a cafe has a large collection of children's illustration books and literature books. Here, she continues her journey to spread the wonders of story reading to children.

As Ancient Greek says the name Sophy represents wisdom, the name Sophy’s book cafe itself has perfectly outlined the outlet’s personality. Owner of Sophy’s book cafe, both a bibliophile and cafephile at the same time decided to set up this space, pairing together a cafe and a children’s library to widespread her love in books and coffee. The cafe offers light meals and beverages while the children’s library with a membership system, offers children’s collection, literature collections, books about parents & children for its members. The library also regularly organises monthly reading sessions for adults, hoping to cultivate reading habit not only among the youngsters but also the grown-ups.
The owner’s hope is this little space can provide a platform where parents and children can enjoy special time reading books together & they will discover wisdom or inspiration through their reading journey.
